In October 2007, with the strong support of the China Banking Regulatory Commission, the Bank of Jilin, after restructuring some urban commercial banks and urban credit cooperatives of Jilin Province, broke the cocoon and turned into a butterfly spreading its wings to fly among the Changbai Mountain and the Songhua River!

Since its establishment, Bank of Jilin always operates in compliance with the laws and regulations steadily, and, through mergers, capital increases & share expansions, introductions of international strategic investors, and cross-region development, it has embarked on a road of differentiated and characteristic development!

Since the second half of 2014, when the new management team headed by Chairman Zhang Baoxiang took office, Bank of Jilin adhered to the five major development concepts of "pursuing innovative, coordinated, green, open and shared development", developed the "five major financial sectors", i.e. individual finance, micro and small finance, interbank finance, integrated finance and Internet finance, kept a foothold on locality to service small and medium-sized entities at the grassroots level, and scored marked business transformation effects. The hard work has paid off: as of the end of 2016, its assets totaled 421.7 billion yuan, ranking among the front of urban commercial banks in China; upon approval, it had acquired the accreditation of intentional underwriting member, successfully standing in the Class-A bond underwriting market; it won the title of the "Top 10 Commercial Banks to Support Regional Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in China in 2016" and the title of the "Best Financial Institution of Development for Regional Service in China 2016".

At present, the Bank of Jilin has set up 11 branches inside and outside of Jilin Province, the first special institution of financial services to small and medium-sized enterprises among urban commercial banks, and 378 business offices, initiated and established 10 township banks and one lending company, and acquired shares of the FAW Auto Financial Company. 

In terms of international businesses, since it obtained the qualification for operating foreign exchange businesses in September 2008, it has accumulated a wealth of professional experience over the nine years. With abundant products, simple procedures and perfect decision-making mechanism, it has met financial demands of nearly 100 enterprises for import and export settlement, cross-border financing, etc. As of the end of 2016, the Bank of Jilin had settled a total of US$ 7.5 billion in international settlements, with the cumulative foreign exchange fund trading of US$ 6.9 billion. 

The Bank of Jilin, through cooperation with its major shareholder, KEB Hana Bank, has obvious advantages in the Korean currency settlement business in the sector. It has signed strategic cooperation agreements with the filiales of KEB Hana Bank in Canada, Indonesia and other foreign countries. It has also signed 32 interbank business agreements with China Merchants Bank, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, etc. on interbank payment, payment for each other, etc. It has 336 corresponding banks in 79 countries and regions of the world. It has the membership of the China Foreign Exchange Trade Center for interbank foreign currency lending. It joined the Asian financial union in 2014 and became the vice-chairman member of the trade and financial committee. In 2016, it joined the Bank of Jilin's foreign exchange and cross-border Chinese currency business self-discipline mechanism and became one of the seven core members of the mechanism.

Hard work pays off and increased strength wins recognition from other banks. In July 2016, in the global top 1000 banks competition organized by the British Journal "Banker", the Bank of Jilin advanced to the position of No. 298 and became one of the top 300 of global banks for the first time. In the ranking of the top 100 Chinese banks first released by the China Banking Association in 2016, the Bank of Jilin ranked 44th. In the list of the comprehensive competitiveness of the city commercial banks in China in 2016, the Bank of Jilin ranked 13th.
